Sandown Brawl Shocker: Gun and Knife Shows Spark Police Hunt
Police are hunting witnesses after a violent scrap on Sandown’s High Street last night left one man injured and two suspects in custody.
Violent Clashes Erupt on High Street
Officers rushed to the scene shortly after 11pm on Friday, 28 April, following reports of two men fighting. Witnesses claimed a gun and a knife were flashed during the fracas.
At the scene, police found a man with facial injuries. He was arrested, taken to hospital, treated, then discharged but remains in custody.
Imitation Firearm and Knife Seized, Two Men Held
- A 40-year-old Isle of Wight man faces charges of possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence, criminal damage, possession of a bladed article, and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
- A 58-year-old man, also from the Isle of Wight, is arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent.
Both suspects remain behind bars as enquiries continue.
