Police rushed to Savile Road, Bilsthorpe, late on 4 May after reports of a car crashing into a parked vehicle.

Arriving just before midnight, officers found multiple cars damaged along the street.

A woman suspected of causing the chaos was asked to exit her car. As cops moved to detain her, suspicions of drink-driving emerged.

Drink-Driving on the Rise

“There is absolutely no excuse for anyone to get behind the wheel under the influence of alcohol or drugs,” a police spokesperson said. “It puts everyone on the road at risk.”

Attack on Police “Unacceptable”

Authorities confirmed the woman assaulted a police officer during the incident. “It is completely unacceptable to attack emergency workers,” the spokesperson added.

Suspect Arrested, Investigation Ongoing

The force has now arrested a suspect linked to the smash-up but urges anyone with info to call 101, quoting incident 837 of 4 May 2023.
