Schools in North West Hit by Malicious Email Scare
Several schools across Cheshire, Liverpool, and Manchester have been rocked by a series of malicious emails, sparking lockdowns and panic among parents. Authorities have launched a full investigation into the disturbing cyber threats.
Lache Primary School Lockdown Sparks Alarm
The drama kicked off at Lache Primary School in Chester, where parents were told via Facebook they couldn’t pick up their children due to a suspicious email hitting multiple schools. The school quickly locked down as a safety precaution, stressing there was no immediate danger.
“We have locked down the school to ensure that everyone is safe, which they are,” a Lache Primary spokesperson said. They later reassured parents that the email was probably a hoax and that children would be dismissed by year group.
Blacon High and Others Boost Security But Stay Open
Nearby Blacon High School also ramped up its security measures after receiving the emails but confirmed it was not under lockdown. The school issued calming statements to ease worried parents’ minds.
Police Hunt Culprit Behind Email Threats
Chester Constabulary is actively investigating the email threats. Officers have visited affected schools to offer support and keep staff and pupils reassured.
Detective Chief Inspector Justin Hancock said, “We are doing everything we can to locate the person responsible for these emails.” He urged parents to stay calm but vigilant as the probe continues.
The full scale and motive behind the email attacks remain unclear as police work to track down the culprit.
