Man Shot in Meigh Shooting Spree – Police Hunt Gunmen
Police are urgently hunting for leads after a terrifying shooting in Meigh’s Gullion View area in the early hours of Saturday, September 16.
Man in His 50s Shot in the Stomach
Just before 2am, multiple shots rang out at a residential home. A man in his 50s was hit once in the stomach. Thankfully, medics rushed him to hospital and say his injuries are not life-threatening.
Others in Home Shaken but Unharmed
At the time, three others were inside: a woman in her 20s and a man and woman both in their 30s. None were physically hurt, but all were left traumatised. The gunfire also shattered a kitchen window.
Police Urge Anyone with Info to Come Forward
Officers are probing the incident and want anyone with details to step up. They said:
“Enquiries are continuing to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident. Anyone with information is asked to contact officers on 101 quoting reference number 119 16/09/23. Information can also be given anonymously through the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
