A quiet residential street in North West London was disrupted this morning when a man was spotted with a firearm. Police immediately responded to reports of the armed individual on Kingsgate Road in Kilburn.
The situation escalated as the man fled the scene in a vehicle, which later crashed near the junction of Streatley Road and Buckley Road. Following the crash, a man in his mid-20s was apprehended by law enforcement on suspicion of driving and firearms offences.
In response to the incident, local road closures were put in place to facilitate the work of emergency services. A photograph from the scene reveals a cordoned-off area on the road, with a police van strategically positioned.
The Metropolitan Police issued a statement, stating, “Officers were called at 11:18am on Monday, 16 October to Kingsgate Road, NW6. A man had reported seeing another man with a firearm who had then made off in a car. The car was involved in a collision on Buckley Road near the junction with Streatley Road. A man in his mid-20s has been arrested on suspicion of driving and firearms offences.”
