Tragic Road Death of Southport Dad James Huyton Shocks Community

The family of James Huyton, 32, have paid a touching tribute after his tragic death in a motorbike crash yesterday morning. James, known locally as Jay or Ginge, lost his life in a collision with a black Mercedes at the Bispham Road and Wennington Road junction around 6.50am BST.

Emergency Crews Called But James Pronounced Dead at Scene

Despite the swift response of emergency services, James was pronounced dead at the scene. The Mercedes driver stopped and is fully cooperating with police as they investigate the crash.

“James Anthony Huyton was a beloved daddy, fiancé, son, brother, uncle, and friend from Southport. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him,” the family said in a heartfelt statement.

Police Appeal for Witnesses and Dashcam Footage

Detective Sergeant Andy Roper from Merseyside Police’s Matrix Serious Collision Investigation Unit expressed his condolences and urged anyone with information to come forward.

“Our team is committed to obtaining answers for James’ family, who are receiving support from specialist officers during this difficult time,” said DS Roper. “If you were near the scene or have any dashcam footage, please contact us immediately. Even the smallest detail could be vital.”

Motorists in the area at the time are also urged to check their dashcams and share anything that might help the ongoing investigation.
