Police nab two for £1,000 shop theft spree in Kent

Bulk thefts rattle Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells stores

Kent Police smashed a brazen shoplifting ring after reports flooded in on Tuesday, 1 November 2023. Between 11.45am and 1.30pm, large hauls of stolen groceries, booze, and candles were nicked across Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells.

Suspects caught red-handed in Maidstone Road stop

Officers zeroed in on a suspicious vehicle in Hadlow’s Maidstone Road at around 1.30pm. Inside? Nearly £1,000 worth of allegedly stolen goods.

Two men charged, court date set

Lee Plant, 43, from Maidstone, and Luke Ransome, 44, from Sutton Valence, face four counts each of shop theft. A 23-year-old Maidstone man was released without charge. Both accused are set to appear at Sevenoaks Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 1 December.
