Detectives investigating a serious assault onboard a train at Wolverhampton railway station have released CCTV images of a group of men believed to have information regarding the incident. The assault took place on Friday, November 3, on a Manchester Piccadilly to Milton Keynes service.
The incident occurred at approximately 23.30 GMT when the victim, a man in his 30s, left his seat to use the train’s restroom. As he made his way to the toilet, he was approached by an individual who unexpectedly punched him in the face. Subsequently, the victim was pulled to the floor and subjected to repeated punches and kicks by multiple assailants.
When the train arrived at Wolverhampton, the victim managed to activate the exit button and escape onto platform three. Despite being restrained and assaulted, he called for help. The individuals responsible for the assault attempted to re-enter the train but eventually exited the station at Wolverhampton.
The victim sustained significant injuries to his back as a result of the attack.
Detectives are now seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the men captured in the released CCTV images, as they believe they may have crucial information that could aid their investigation.
