A teenage boy has been formally charged with the murder of 42-year-old Lianne Gordon, following a fatal shooting incident in Hackney, East London, last week. The young suspect, along with additional charges, appeared before Barkingside Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
The tragic incident, which took place outside an address in Vine Close, was reported to the Metropolitan Police at 6.28 pm last Tuesday. Gordon was shot dead on her doorstep, and two other individuals, a 20-year-old man and a 16-year-old boy, also sustained gunshot injuries. They were later discharged from the hospital.
The 16-year-old accused was detained by the Metropolitan Police in the early hours of Friday morning. Alongside the murder charge, he faces two counts of attempted murder, possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life, and two counts of possession with intent to supply class A drugs.
Investigators noted that although Ms. Gordon and the two other gunshot victims were not related, they are believed to have known each other. Police are also examining whether this attack is linked to previous shots fired in the same area.
During Monday’s court hearing, the teenager was remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear at London’s Old Bailey on December 13.
This incident has caused significant concern in the local community, with Police working diligently to uncover the full circumstances surrounding the shooting. The Metropolitan Police are continuing their investigation and have urged anyone with information related to the incident to come forward.
