Christmas Chaos! Power Cut Strikes Seaford, Ovens Go Cold

Residents of Seaford’s BN25 area faced an unexpected Christmas nightmare this afternoon. Just as festive feasts were heating up, a power cut plunged homes into darkness, leaving ovens cold and turkeys undercooked. UK Power Networks has apologised for the blackout that spoiled the day.

Feasts Frozen in Suspension as Lights Go Out

The timing was brutal. Just as families fired up their ovens for Christmas lunch, the power went out, turning hopeful cooks into frustrated food lovers.

Local foodie Mrs Clara Plum lamented, “There I was, basting the turkey, dreaming of the perfect golden skin, when everything just went dark. The turkey is now sulking in the oven, half-dressed and undercooked!”

When Will the Lights Come Back On?

UK Power Networks expects power to be restored between 6pm and 7pm, though some lucky locals might see their lights flicker back sooner.

Simon from UK Power Networks said,

“I appreciate your patience this afternoon. Power cuts are disruptive and our staff are working hard to fix it. We’re testing the network in the area, which can take time depending on infrastructure. We’ll update you if the restoration time changes. For support, call us on 105.”

For now, Christmas dinners remain on pause, as Seaford waits for the festive lights – and ovens – to come back to life.
