Two Men Nabbed in £40k Drug and Cash Haul After Police Stop
£40,000 Cash and Drugs Seized in Two Arrests
Police made two arrests after proactive vehicle stops by the Operational Support Group (OSG). The raids led to the seizure of more than £40,000 in cash, suspected Class A and B drugs, and several electronic devices.
Audi Stop Uncovers £11,000 Cash and Phones
On Friday 29 December, just after 8.15pm, officers pulled over an Audi near Sadlers Farm roundabout. The 31-year-old driver from Tilbury was stopped for a routine traffic check.
A search of the car uncovered over £11,000 in cash and multiple mobile phones. The man was arrested on suspicion of drug driving and money laundering.
Police didn’t stop there. A follow-up search at his home revealed a staggering £33,890 in cash, which was also seized. He remains in custody for questioning.
Early Morning Moped Stop Reveals Class A and B Drugs
Just after 1am on Saturday 30 December, officers became suspicious of a white Honda moped heading into Canvey Island. The vehicle was stopped outside Canvey Golf Club.
A search found suspected Class B drugs. Further checks while in custody uncovered cash, what’s believed to be Class A drugs, and a mobile phone of interest. A 24-year-old man from Southend was arrested for possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and drug driving. He remains in custody.

Chief Inspector Richard Baxter, head of the OSG, said: “Each night, officers from OSG are on duty across the county to target people who we believe are causing harm to our communities.These examples show the extent officers will go to keep the public safe whilst the rest of them are safely tucked up in bed.Both men remain in custody today as investigations progress.”
