Tragedy in Costessey: Two Girls Found Dead with Knife Wounds

Four Bodies Discovered at Costessey Home

Police have confirmed a chilling discovery in Costessey after four bodies were found at a house on Allan Bedford Crescent on Friday, January 19. Among them were two young girls, Jasmin Kuczynska, 12, and Natasha Kuczynska, 8, both victims of fatal knife wounds to the neck.

The other deceased include Bartlomiej Kuczynski, 45, and Kanticha Sukpengpanao, 36. Officers responded following a distress call from a member of the public that morning.

Post-Mortem Reveals Grim Details

Home Office post-mortems have confirmed the cause of death for three victims as stabbing to the neck. Kanticha and Bartlomiej also died from stab wounds, while Jasmin and Natasha were both fatally wounded by knives to the neck, per the January 24 examination.

Police Declare Three Murders, One Non-Suspicious Death

Detectives now treat the deaths of Kanticha, Jasmin, and Natasha as murder. Meanwhile, Bartlomiej’s death is not considered suspicious, and police say no other suspects are being sought. Detective Chief Inspector Chris Burgess leads the ongoing investigation as coronial inquiries proceed.

Community Shock and Scrutiny Over Police Response

Detective Burgess expressed deep sympathy for the families and local community, promising continued reassurance patrols. A police cordon remains as officers complete a detailed scene examination.

The case has also been referred to the Independent Office of Police Conduct (IOPC). This follows a 999 call made by a man at the property before the deaths, which did not lead to police deployment. In addition, recent police contact regarding a missing person enquiry at this address is under review by the IOPC.
