Wanted Drug Dealer Caught Red-Handed with £520 of Class A Drugs
Police on patrol in Millfield’s Lincoln Road spotted 30-year-old Evaldas Lygmalis acting suspiciously last August. The wanted man was heading to the same property on Rock Road as officers when he suddenly ducked behind a parked car and shoved something in his mouth.
‘Going to the Toilet’ Ruse Falls Flat
When stopped, Lygmalis claimed he was just using the spot as a toilet. Officers weren’t buying it and found no evidence to support his story. A quick check on the Police National Computer revealed he was wanted for failing to appear in court over drug dealing charges.
Arrest Uncovers Drugs, Cash, and Illegal Weapon
With no fixed address, Lygmalis was arrested on the spot. A search uncovered a plastic bag tucked into his waistband containing around £520 worth of crack cocaine and heroin wraps. Officers also found over £200 in cash and an illegal extendable baton – all evidence stacking up against him.
Jailed for 4½ Years at Peterborough Crown Court
Yesterday at Peterborough Crown Court, Lygmalis pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply both crack cocaine and heroin, plus possession of an offensive weapon in public. He was handed a hefty four-and-a-half-year prison sentence for his crimes.
