The investigation continues following a stabbing incident in Wimbledon, where a man in his 30s sustained an injury to his leg. The Metropolitan Police were alerted at 2.40pm on Friday, 29 March, to an address in Wimbledon, where the victim was attacked. London Ambulance Service paramedics promptly arrived at the scene, providing medical treatment to the injured man before transporting him to the hospital. Fortunately, the victim has since been discharged from hospital.

Given the nature of the victim’s profession as a journalist at a Persian-language media organization based in the UK, and previous threats directed towards this group of journalists, specialist officers from the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command are leading the investigation. As of now, no arrests have been made.

Commander Dominic Murphy, Head of the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command, addressed the ongoing investigation, stating, “We continue to assess the circumstances of this incident, and our investigation is making progress, but I am not yet able to provide further information about any motive behind the attack.
