Two men have been charged over the theft of lead and the damage caused to a school roof in Medway. The crime took place on Friday, October 27, 2023, at a school on Luton Road in Chatham.

Suspects Named and Charged – Court Date Set

On Saturday, April 13, 2024, Tyla Hughes, 22, of Castle Well Drive, Salisbury, and Jordan Day, 21, from Chipstead Road, Gillingham, were formally charged with theft and criminal damage. Both remain on bail and are due to appear at Maidstone Magistrates’ Court on Friday, June 21.

“These charges highlight the seriousness with which authorities are tackling offences targeting educational institutions,” police said, stressing the importance of school safety and security.
