21-Year-Old Woman Dies in Shocking Tower Hamlets Incident
Police raced to Ratcliffe Lane, E14, just after 2.30pm on Thursday, May 23, following a call from London Ambulance Service about an unresponsive woman.
Despite emergency teams’ best efforts, the 21-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene. Her next of kin have been informed.
Second Woman Arrested Amid Investigation
A second woman, in her mid-40s, was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. She remains under treatment but has been arrested on suspicion of murder. Both women are known to each other.
Met’s Specialist Crime Command Leads Probe
Detective Chief Superintendent James Conway, local policing lead for Tower Hamlets and Hackney, said:
“My thoughts are with the family of this lady at this exceptionally difficult time. This appears to be a tragic set of circumstances. We are working closely with the Specialist Crime Command to piece together the events that led to this devastating outcome.”
He added that officers will remain in Ratcliffe Lane over the next few days to offer reassurance to the community and gather any potential witness information.
