Two Sheffield Women Locked Up for Stephen Koszyczarski’s Murder
On Wednesday 5 June, Nicola Lethbridge, 45, and Zoe Rider, 36, were sentenced to life behind bars with a minimum of 26 years for the brutal murder of Stephen Koszyczarski.
Stephen Murdered in His Own Home
Stephen was viciously killed on 9 August 2023 at his Woodseats home in Sheffield. The crime shocked the local community and sparked a major police investigation.
Their sentencing followed swift police work, praised in court by Her Honour Sarah Wright, highlighting the determination that brought the killers to justice.
Heartbreaking Tribute from Stephen’s Friend
“I am really struggling to come to terms with Steve’s murder and the horrid, evil things they have done to him. I still hear Steve’s voice, sometimes answering him before remembering he’s gone. It is heartbreaking we won’t see him again.”
“I cry most days and nights. Steve was a special man with a heart of gold who would help anyone. I will forever miss his visits to my house. Why they did this to him—why they murdered him—will haunt me forever.”
“Since he was taken, I wear a locket with his photo smiling, and that’s how I’ll always remember him.”
Robbery Sentences Added for Lethbridge and Rider
Both women, from Fraser Drive, appeared at Sheffield Crown Court on 16 May. They were found guilty of murder and robbery after just one hour of jury deliberation.
Besides life sentences, each woman got 13 years for robbery charges. Rider also received additional sentences for unrelated driving offences. All sentences will run concurrently.
