Monster jailed for 18 years after torturing woman in Dudley flat
Man controls, threatens and traps victim
Mark Coley refused to let a woman eat or use her phone. He even tied her up to stop her leaving his Dudley home. In summer 2022, he lured her to his flat and forced her inside. He threatened her and falsely claimed she was being watched by hidden cameras.
Financial control and cruel manipulation
Coley controlled her money and only “trusted” her with a phone three months later — in September. The woman used this chance to call a relative, who helped her escape. But Coley tracked her down to a hotel and dragged her to a caravan and other rented places nearby.
Finally caught and convicted
After a police hunt, officers found them both in Stourport in October. Coley, who suffered serious head injuries in a teen collision, was arrested and denied all charges.
However, following a trial, he was convicted of rape and coercive control at Wolverhampton Crown Court. The 35-year-old from New Rowley Road, Dudley, was sentenced to 18 years in jail and placed on the sex offender register for life.
