Man Charged After Brighton Disturbance Involving Imitation Firearm

Police swooped on a disturbance at a Brighton address on Monday, 17 June. They found and arrested a man nearby carrying a firearm – later confirmed as an imitation weapon.

Mark Mercer Faces Serious Charges

Mark Mercer, 38, from Storrington, has been hit with two counts of possessing a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence. He’s also charged with theft and assault.

Remanded in Custody

Mercer appeared at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, 19 June, where he was remanded in custody. His next court date is set for 17 July.
