Massive Fire Erupts Near Clapham Junction
A blazing fire tore through the loft and roof of a house on Parma Crescent near Clapham Junction, prompting the evacuation of a woman and the rescue of a dog and two cats. The London Fire Brigade (LFB) rushed six fire engines and around 40 firefighters to the scene.
Firefighters Battle Intense Rooftop Blaze
The fire broke out in the loft conversion and quickly engulfed the roof space of the two-storey property. Crews used a 32-metre turntable ladder to fight the flames from above. The woman evacuated the home before firefighters arrived.
Station Commander Thomas Sharp warned nearby residents to keep windows and doors shut due to heavy smoke drifting through the area.
Pets Saved from Neighboring Property
As a safety precaution, firefighters rescued a dog and two cats from a neighbouring home. The LFB teams from Wandsworth, Chelsea, Tooting, Clapham, and Fulham worked together to bring the fire under control by 3:07 PM, after being called at 1:24 PM.
Cause of Blaze Still Unknown
The origin of the fire remains under investigation. No injuries to humans have been reported so far, but emergency crews remain on alert in the area.
