House Fire Near Clapham Junction Leads to Evacuation and Animal Rescues

A woman was evacuated and a dog and two cats were rescued due to a significant fire near Clapham Junction. The blaze broke out in the loft conversion and roof of a property on Parma Crescent.

The London Fire Brigade (LFB) dispatched six fire engines and around 40 firefighters to tackle the fire, which had engulfed part of the loft and roof space of the two-storey house. A 32-metre turntable ladder was used to fight the flames from above. The woman evacuated the property before the brigade’s arrival.

Firefighters also rescued a dog and two cats from a neighbouring property as a precaution. Station Commander Thomas Sharp, who was present at the scene, advised residents to keep their windows and doors closed due to the considerable amount of smoke in the area.
