Man Busted After Sweets Heist Sparks Vandalism Drama
Police were quick on the scene after a theft took a nasty turn at a service station on Boxley Road. Officers detained the suspect within minutes of the disturbance.
Sweet Steal Turns Ugly
At 2.50pm on Thursday 20 June 2024, police were called to the location. A man reportedly stole sweets from the shop. When staff confronted him, he left – but came back shortly afterwards and smashed a door with a brick.
Swift Arrest and Court Date Set
Officers scoured the area and by 3.15pm had arrested 38-year-old Keane Rogers from Waterloo Street, maidstone/" title="Maidstone" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Maidstone. He’s been charged with theft and criminal damage.
Rogers is now on bail, with strict conditions, and must appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court on 12 July.
