Notorious Shoplifter Banned from Maidstone Stores for Two Years
Lisa Willett slapped with tough Criminal Behaviour Order
Lisa Willett, 45, of Grecian Street, Maidstone, has been hit with a two-year Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) following a spree of shop thefts. The order, handed down on Thursday 11 July 2024, bans her from entering several local stores across the town.
Ban covers major supermarkets and local shops
The CBO prohibits Willett from stepping foot in various named businesses, including big names like Poundland, Aldi, and Morrisons, as well as numerous smaller shops. She is also barred from any store previously banning her and must leave any premises if ordered by the owner or staff.
History of repeat offences lands Willett back in prison
Police sought the CBO after a series of thefts in Sittingbourne between 1 and 15 January 2024. Willett was jailed for 260 days and released on licence after serving half her sentence. However, she reoffended in June and is currently serving her full prison term.
Police vow to crack down on crime
PC Jamie Spencer said: “Willett has caused misery in the town since 2023 and is one of the worst repeat offenders in the area. Her criminality had a damaging impact on both businesses and local communities.”
“Kent Police are determined to tackle this type of crime. I’m pleased Willett has been given a CBO to stop her reoffending on release. If she breaks any conditions, she’ll face court immediately.”
