Police Appeal for Information After Serious Crash in Thamesmead Leaves Man in Critical Condition – UKNIP

Police are appealing for information following a serious crash in Thamesmead that has left a man in critical condition. The incident occurred on Monday, July 15, at around 8:47 pm at the junction of Eastern Way and the A2016.

Emergency services, including the London Ambulance Service and police, were called to the scene. Two cars were involved in the collision, and the investigation into the circumstances of the crash is ongoing.

Ambulance crews, a paramedic in a fast response car, an incident response officer, and London’s Air Ambulance were all dispatched to the scene. Two individuals were treated at the site of the crash, and both were transported to major trauma centres. One of the victims was rushed to the hospital as a priority and remains in critical condition.

Police have confirmed that no other serious injuries were reported from the incident. They are now seeking any additional information or witnesses who may be able to assist in their investigation.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police stated: “Police were called at approximately 20:50hrs on Monday, 15 July to reports of a road traffic collision involving two cars in Eastern Avenue, SE28. Officers and London Ambulance Service attended. The male driver of one of the cars was taken to hospital for treatment; he remains there in a critical condition. No reports of any other serious injuries. No arrests; enquiries into the circumstances continue. Anyone with information that could assist police is asked to call 101 or ‘X’ @MetCC and quote CAD8161/15Jul.”

The London Ambulance Service also released a statement: “We were called at 8.47pm on Monday 15 July to reports of a road traffic collision at the junction of Eastern Way and A2016, Thamesmead. We sent resources to the scene, including ambulance crews, a paramedic in a fast response car, an incident response officer, and London’s Air Ambulance. The first of our crews arrived in six minutes. Our crews treated two patients at the scene, before taking them both to a London major trauma centre, one as a priority.”
