Prolific Child Abuser Jailed for 21 Years after Three-Decade Hunt
Anthony Fowler, 74, has finally been locked up for 21 years at Snaresbrook Crown Court for horrifying child abuses dating back over 30 years. The Islington resident was found guilty of multiple vile sexual offences, including bestiality, following a relentless investigation by the Metropolitan Police.
Victims Speak Out After Decades of Silence
The court heard how Fowler subjected one child under 10 to horrific sexual assaults over two years starting in 1992. A second victim later bravely came forward, revealing years of abuse at his hands.
Detectives reopened the cold case almost three decades later when a victim stepped forward, triggering a thorough inquiry that included interviews with friends and family, plus detailed medical record checks. Fowler denied all allegations and showed no remorse throughout police questioning.
Met Police Praise Victims’ Bravery, Urge Others to Speak Up
Detective Chief Inspector Sarb Kaur said: “I hope the bravery of Fowler’s victims inspires others who fear speaking out against such horrific abuse. Our officers showed immense dedication securing justice. They are a credit to the Met.”
She added: “We urge anyone who has been abused, no matter how long ago, to come forward and get the support they deserve.”
