Channel 4 has announced the commission of “Trespasses,” a compelling four-part series adapted from Louise Kennedy’s acclaimed debut novel. The series, produced by BAFTA award-winning and double Oscar-nominated Wildgaze Films, will be brought to the screen by rising talent Ailbhe Keogan in her first lead writing credit.
Set in 1975 near Belfast, “Trespasses” tells the poignant and gripping story of Cushla, a young Catholic schoolteacher played by Lola Petticrew, who becomes entangled in a forbidden romance with Michael, an older Protestant barrister portrayed by Tom Cullen. Their passionate affair unfolds against the intense backdrop of the Troubles, a period where danger and paranoia permeate every aspect of daily life in Northern Ireland.
