Man Charged Over Brutal Attack Near Notting Hill Carnival
Omar Wilson, 31, from Leytonstone, is due in Westminster Magistrates’ Court tomorrow, charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent. The charge stems from a savage assault on Mussie Imnetu near the Notting Hill Carnival on Monday night.
Serious Stabbing Leaves Victim in Critical Condition
The attack happened around 11.23pm on Monday, when police on duty at the carnival found 41-year-old Mussie Imnetu unconscious with a severe head injury on Queensway, W2. Mussie, visiting from Dubai, was rushed to a west London hospital where he remains in critical condition.
Wilson was arrested early Wednesday on suspicion of attempted murder and formally charged on Thursday. He is now remanded in custody ahead of his court appearance.
Police Appeal for Witnesses as Investigation Continues
Detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command are hunting for answers. They urge anyone with information about Mussie’s movements or the attack to come forward immediately.
