Man in CCTV Snapped After Horrific Attack Near Tottenham Court Road
The Metropolitan Police have released a CCTV image of a man they want to quiz in connection with a disturbing rape investigation in central London. The crime happened on the evening of December 19, 2023, close to Tottenham Court Road Underground Station.
Victim Forced Into Car, Driven Across London Before Attack
Police say a woman walking near the tube station was picked up by a stranger between 9pm and 11:30pm. The unknown man drove her around central London before stopping near Covent Garden’s Long Acre, where she was reportedly raped.
Police Hunt Fair-Skinned Black Man with Short Hair and Freckles
Detective Constable Adam Ramsden, leading the probe, said: “We’ve been working around the clock gathering evidence. This CCTV image shows a man we urgently want to speak to.”
The suspect is described as a fair-skinned black man with short hair and noticeable freckles. Police are urging anyone recognising the man or with relevant information to come forward immediately.
