Radio star and Heart Breakfast host Jamie Theakston has shocked fans by announcing he has Stage 1 laryngeal cancer. Theakston broke the news on Instagram after a routine operation to remove a lesion from his vocal cords revealed the diagnosis.

Positive Outlook Amid Tough News

Jamie shared a hopeful message with his followers: “So…I have cancer…but cancer doesn’t have me! The prognosis is very positive and I hope to be back with you in October.”

He will be resting his voice for now, with co-hosts JK and Amanda Holden stepping up during his recovery. Jamie thanked his team and the Global Radio family for their unwavering support, calling them “unbelievably supportive.”
