Woman in 50s Killed in Hit-and-Run Horror on Brixton Road
A woman in her 50s was tragically killed in a hit-and-run on Brixton Road, near Handforth Road, SW9, on Tuesday evening. The fatal collision involved a tow truck that struck the pedestrian and didn’t stop. To make matters worse, a car then hit her too.
Tow Truck Flees Scene, Car Driver Stays to Help
The car driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with police. Emergency services rushed to the chaos at 6:49pm on October 1. Officers from the Metropolitan Police, London Ambulance Service, and London’s Air Ambulance were all on the scene, but sadly, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene despite frantic efforts by paramedics.
Man Arrested, Police Hunt Tow Truck Driver
A man has been arrested on suspicion of failing to stop and causing death by dangerous driving. Police are actively searching for the tow truck driver who vanished from the scene. Authorities have urged anyone with dashcam footage or information to come forward urgently.
