Church Street in Storrington has been closed after a sinkhole appeared near a local barber shop. While the hole may look small on the surface, authorities have revealed that a void approximately 6 feet by 6 feet has formed beneath the road.
West Sussex Highways has been informed of the issue, but due to the extent of the work required, repairs will not begin until Monday. In the meantime, barriers have been placed around the affected area to ensure the safety of road users.
Officials have urged residents not to move the barriers and to avoid the area until the repairs are completed.
