Emergency crews responded to a train fire at Bearsted Rail Station in Ware Street, Bearsted, on Tuesday, October 15, 2024. Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to the scene, deploying five fire engines and a bulk water carrier to tackle the blaze at its peak.
Firefighters worked quickly to bring the fire under control, and the operation has since been scaled down to two fire engines. Crews are currently assisting Network Rail and Southeastern as they manage the aftermath of the incident.

There have been no reports of injuries, and the cause of the fire is under investigation. The quick response from emergency services helped to prevent further escalation and normal service is expected to resume once the area has been cleared.
