Swindon Man Dodges Jail After Breaching Sexual Risk Order Twice

A 58-year-old from Swindon has been handed a suspended sentence for breaking a strict Sexual Risk Order (SRO) not once, but twice. Sean Morris of Massinger Walk was sentenced to 40 weeks behind bars, suspended for 18 months, after flouting his court-imposed restrictions.

Flouting Court Orders Twice in a Month

The breaches took place on August 31 and September 12, when Morris entered the Broadgreen area between 5:30pm and 7am — precisely when his SRO banned him from being there. The order is designed to restrict the movements of those considered a sexual risk to the public, even if they haven’t been formally convicted of a crime.

Police Warn Public to Stay Alert

“Morris poses a particular risk to vulnerable women and sex workers,” said PC Katie Owers. “This court order was granted based on detailed intelligence from these women and our partner agencies. If anyone spots suspicious behaviour, they must report it immediately so we can protect those at risk.”

Public Asked to Report Concerns

If you have any information about Morris or similar cases, Wiltshire Police urge you to call 101 or use their online reporting service. You can also remain anonymous through Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111. The message is clear: community vigilance is vital to keep vulnerable people safe.
