A 48-year-old woman was hospitalised following a dog attack on Eglinton Road near Ripon Road just after 8 a.m. on Wednesday, November 13.
Emergency services, including officers from the Metropolitan Police and crews from the London Ambulance Service, responded swiftly to the incident. On arrival, they found the woman suffering injuries to her arms and legs. She was treated at the scene before being transported to the hospital, where her current condition is yet to be confirmed.
The Metropolitan Police have seized the dog involved in the attack and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident. Authorities have not disclosed the breed of the dog or any further details about the animal’s owner.
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police confirmed, “At 08:02hrs on Wednesday, 13 November, officers were called to Eglinton Road, SE18, following reports that a woman had been attacked by a dog. The victim was taken to hospital with injuries to her arms and legs. The dog was seized, and an investigation is underway.”
The London Ambulance Service provided additional information, stating: “We were called at 7:58 a.m. to reports of an injured person in Eglinton Road, Woolwich. We sent resources to the scene, including ambulance crews, members of our Tactical Response Unit (TRU), an incident response officer, and London’s Air Ambulance. Our crews treated a woman at the scene before taking her to hospital by road.”
