Bexley Council Launches Gritting Operations Ahead of Predicted Cold Weather

The London Borough of Bexley has announced its fleet of gritting vehicles will be out tonight to ensure the borough’s roads remain safe as temperatures drop.

With cold weather and icy conditions forecast, the council is taking proactive steps to prevent accidents and disruptions. The gritting fleet will treat key routes across the borough, prioritizing main roads and areas prone to ice formation.

Ongoing Monitoring and Action

The council has assured residents that it will continue to monitor weather conditions throughout the week and conduct additional gritting runs as necessary.

A council spokesperson said:
“Ensuring the safety of those travelling around Bexley is our priority. With cold weather expected, our teams are ready to act, spreading grit to keep roads safe for drivers and pedestrians.”

Stay Prepared

Motorists and residents are advised to take extra care when travelling, particularly during early morning and late evening when roads are likely to be most icy.
