A fire broke out this morning at a school on Downs Park Road in Hackney, prompting a swift response from the London Fire Brigade (LFB).

The incident, reported at 9:08 a.m., saw ten fire engines and approximately 70 firefighters dispatched to the scene. Crews from Homerton, Stoke Newington, Tottenham, and nearby stations worked together to contain the blaze.

The fire affected a small part of the school’s second floor. A 32-metre turntable ladder was deployed as a water tower, allowing firefighters to tackle the flames from above.
