Bungalow Fire in Whitstable Prompts Major Emergency Response

A significant fire broke out at a bungalow in The Warren, Whitstable on the morning of Wednesday, 18 December, prompting a swift response from emergency services.

 

Kent Fire and Rescue Service (KFRS) were called to the scene at 7:33 AM. Five fire engines and a height vehicle were dispatched, with crews tackling the blaze using main jets and high-pressure hose reel jets. Firefighters wore breathing apparatus for protection while extinguishing the flames.

 

Emergency Response and Support

The KFRS Volunteer Response Team attended the incident to provide additional support to residents and emergency crews. Paramedics from South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb) were also on-site, and one person was handed into their care.

Ongoing Investigation

The fire was brought under control by 9:36 AM, and the cause is currently under investigation. However, early indications suggest the fire is believed to be accidental.
