Child Dies in Carmarthen: One Person Arrested as Police Launch Investigation

Dyfed Powys Police have arrested one person following the tragic death of a child who became unwell at a property in Llangunnor, Carmarthen last week.

Emergency services were called to an address around 6:00pm on Thursday, 20 February after a request for police assistance. A child at the property was found unwell and was urgently taken to hospital, but sadly, despite medical efforts, she passed away a short time later.

Police Statement

In a statement, Dyfed Powys Police confirmed the arrest and ongoing enquiries:
“A child was unwell at the property and was taken to hospital, where she sadly died a short time later. One person has been arrested and enquiries are ongoing.”
One neighbour, who wished to remain anonymous, said: “It’s heartbreaking. You never expect something like this to happen on your doorstep. Our thoughts are with the family during this awful time.”

Police are appealing for anyone who may have relevant information that could assist their investigation to come forward.
