Man Arrested After Causing Damage at Dublin Airport Gate

A man has been arrested following a disruptive incident at Terminal 1 of Dublin Airport this morning, after reportedly missing his flight and damaging airport property in a fit of rage.

The incident occurred at approximately 07:20am at Gate 107 on Pier 1, where multiple videos and images shared online captured the man damaging gate infrastructure and behaving aggressively.

Gate Temporarily Out of Service

As a result of the damage, Gate 107 has been taken out of service, with airport authorities confirming it will remain unavailable for an unspecified period of time while repairs and assessments are carried out.

An airport spokesperson said:

“We can confirm that an individual was arrested this morning at Dublin Airport’s Terminal 1 following a disturbance at Gate 107. The situation was quickly brought under control by airport police. Gate 107 will remain out of service pending maintenance.”

Footage Goes Viral

The incident has gained widespread attention on social media with  footage of the man damaging seating and gate barriers being shared widely 

Passengers in the area at the time were temporarily diverted, but no injuries were reported, and operations in the rest of the terminal continued as normal.

Ongoing Investigation

The arrested man is currently in Gardaí custody, and authorities have confirmed that investigations into the incident are ongoing. No formal charges have yet been announced.

Further updates are expected from Dublin Airport Authority and Gardaí as enquiries continue.
