Stabbing Shock in Barking: Man Hurt, Suspect on the Run

Emergency crews rushed to Whalebone Lane South in Barking late Saturday evening after reports of a stabbing. Police and paramedics were called just after 10:30pm following an altercation that left a man in his 20s injured.

Victim Treated at Scene, Taken to Hospital

The victim suffered stab wounds and was treated on site by London Ambulance Service, including the London Air Ambulance. Thankfully, his injuries are described as non-life-threatening and non-life-changing. He was quickly taken to hospital for further care.

Crime Scene Active, Transport Disrupted

Police sealed off the area as a crime scene. Local bus routes, including the 173 and 499, are being diverted. Drivers are urged to find alternative routes while officers conduct their investigation.

Suspect at Large, Police Seek Witnesses

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson confirmed the suspect fled before police arrived. Authorities are urgently hunting for him and have called on anyone with information to come forward.

“Around 9.35pm on Saturday, 5 April, officers attended Whalebone Lane South, Dagenham, alongside the London Ambulance Service following reports of an altercation. A man in his 20s was treated at the scene for stab injuries. He was taken to hospital, where his injuries were assessed as non-life-changing and non-life-threatening.

The suspect left the scene before emergency services attended, and police are making urgent enquiries to locate him.
