Wiltshire Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious road traffic collision involving a motorcyclist on the A429 at Lower Stanton St Quintin this afternoon.

A Suzuki SV650 motorcycle travelling behind was unable to stop in time and collided with the rear of the Nissan. The force of the impact threw the 20-year-old motorcyclist into the path of an oncoming black Land Rover Freelander.

Emergency services responded swiftly to the scene. The rider sustained suspected serious internal injuries and was transported to hospital for urgent treatment. His condition has not yet been disclosed.

The road was partially closed while collision investigators examined the scene.
