DJI Mavic 4 Pro launch hit by big delay until June 2025

DJI fans expecting the Mavic 4 Pro this spring are in for a wait. Fresh leaks suggest the drone’s launch has been pushed back from May to June 2025. This marks yet another delay for DJI’s first Mavic release in over a year.

Hardware Glitches Halt Mavic 4 Pro

Sources say technical troubles with the drone’s electronic neutral density (ND) filters and its ambitious 240W fast-charging system are to blame. So serious are the issues that these features might be dropped altogether from the final version.

Adding to disappointment, leaker @OsitaLV reveals the Mavic 4 Pro won’t support Apple’s ProRes codec like its predecessors. Instead, it will stick with XAVC-I High Profile 4:2:2 codecs, casting doubt on any “Cine Premium” edition arriving.

Leaked Specs Promise Power and Precision

An unverified spec sheet has leaked, showcasing some serious upgrades over the Mavic 3 Pro:

  • Triple-lens system:
    • 28mm wide-angle, 100MP
    • 70mm medium telephoto, 48MP
    • 168mm telephoto, 50MP
  • 14 stops of dynamic range (up from 12.8 on Mavic 3 Pro)
  • OcuSync 4+ transmission plus 4G connectivity with the upcoming RC Pro 2 controller
  • 95.3 Wh battery promising flight times over 50 minutes (vs. 43 minutes before)

Hefty Price Tags for New DJI Drone

Leaked pricing suggests the base Mavic 4 Pro will start around $2,250. For big spenders, the Creator Combo edition — including the RC Pro 2 controller, 512GB storage, and extra accessories — could soar to $4,500.

What’s Next for DJI’s Flagship?

No official date yet, but insiders expect DJI to announce the Mavic 4 Pro in early June, pushing the rollout well beyond earlier rumours of April. With the drone packed with tech and potential, enthusiasts are on high alert.

Will the Mavic 4 Pro live up to the hype? Only time will tell, but the delays and changes add fresh drama to DJI’s aerial photography showdown.
