Indian and Pakistani Protesters Gather Outside Pakistani Embassy in London Following Kashmir Attack

Tensions flared outside the Pakistani embassy in London today as groups of Indian and Pakistani protesters clashed verbally during demonstrations over a recent terrorist attack in Kashmir that left 26 people dead.

The protests were sparked by outrage following the deadly gun attack in Kashmir earlier this week, which targeted a civilian convoy. Indian authorities have condemned the assault as a terrorist atrocity, blaming militant groups allegedly operating from across the border.

Shortly after midday, dozens of protesters gathered outside the embassy building in Knightsbridge, waving Indian flags and holding placards demanding action against terrorism. Some signs read “Justice for Kashmir Victims” and “End Cross-Border Terror.”

Counter-protesters, many waving Pakistani flags, also assembled in the area, leading to heightened tensions. Both groups chanted slogans, but the situation remained largely peaceful under the watchful presence of a significant police operation.

The Metropolitan Police confirmed that officers were on site to ensure public safety and that no arrests had been made. “We are aware of a planned demonstration outside the Pakistani embassy and are policing the event proportionately to ensure it passes without incident,” a spokesperson said.

The terrorist attack in Kashmir, which occurred on Wednesday, resulted in the deaths of 26 people and injured dozens more. The assault has been widely condemned internationally.

The Indian High Commission in London released a statement urging the international community to “hold accountable those who shelter and support terrorism.” Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry issued a separate statement condemning the attack and denying any involvement.

Today’s protests come amid renewed tensions between India and Pakistan, with officials warning of the need for calm as diplomatic relations remain strained.

The demonstrations outside the embassy dispersed peacefully by late afternoon, with police continuing to monitor the area.

Authorities are urging Londoners to expect possible traffic disruptions in the Knightsbridge area throughout the evening.
