Emergency Response After Undercarriage Collapse

The drama unfolded at around 1.48pm when the small plane, carrying two people, diverted to Norwich with a reported landing gear fault. The undercarriage collapsed as it touched down.

Firefighters and ambulance crews were on site immediately. Thankfully, both onboard were shaken but unhurt and got out safely.

“At 1.48pm today, a light aircraft with two people on board diverted to Norwich Airport with a reported undercarriage issue. Upon landing, the undercarriage collapsed. Flight Chaos as Runway Remains Closed

The runway was shut down straight away and will stay closed until at least 5pm for recovery operations. The disruption is hitting holidaymakers and business travellers hard this busy weekend.

  • A TUI flight from Tenerife was diverted to London Stansted.
  • KLM cancelled its 2.05pm flight to Amsterdam.

Passengers are urged to check directly with their airlines for updates. Norwich Airport promises to keep travellers informed as the situation develops.
