Tragic Death at Penge East Station After Person Hit by Train
A person has died after being struck by a train at Penge East station in south-east London on the evening of Tuesday, April 29, 2025.
Emergency Rush to the Scene
Emergency services were called at around 9:55pm following reports of someone on the tracks. British Transport Police (BTP), London Ambulance Service, and London Fire Brigade crews rushed to the scene. Sadly, the victim was pronounced dead at the station.

“We were called to Penge East station at 9.55hrs on Tuesday, April 29 following reports that a person had been struck by a train. Sadly, a person was pronounced deceased at the scene. The incident is not being treated as suspicious, and a file will be prepared for the coroner.” – British Transport Police spokesperson

Passengers at Penge East were left stunned and shaken. Emergency crews evacuated the station amid the grim incident.

Rail Services Hit Hard
Train services through Penge East were suspended Tuesday night, affecting Southeastern and Thameslink routes. Southeastern Trains confirmed no trains could run via Kent House due to emergency operations between Shortlands and Brixton.
