Police have launched an urgent appeal for witnesses following a broad daylight shooting on West Bromwich High Street earlier today.

The incident occurred near the junction with Trinity Way at approximately 11.35am. It is understood that shots were fired at a vehicle, prompting a swift response from emergency services. Shortly after the shooting, a man in his 20s arrived at a local hospital suffering from a gunshot wound. He remains in serious condition, according to police.
A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said:

We are urgently appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident, or who may have dashcam, CCTV, or phone footage, to come forward.

Police have not yet confirmed whether any arrests have been made.

This latest incident comes amid renewed concerns about gun crime across parts of the West Midlands.
