The Metropolitan Police have confirmed that a 14-year-old boy and two adult men who were stopped during a major police operation in Stockport on Saturday were not linked to the incident under investigation.

Officers said the trio appeared to “have run away” from the area being targeted, prompting their stop due to the severity of the alleged offences and concerns for public safety.
In a statement, the Met said:

“The individuals were stopped in the interest of public safety given the nature of the offences being investigated. Once it was confirmed they were not involved, they were released.”

Ongoing Investigations

The wider operation in Stockport, which involved significant police presence, remains ongoing. Further details regarding the primary investigation have not yet been released.
