Armed Police Storm Brighton Street Over Shotgun Scare

Armed officers rushed to Carden Avenue, Brighton this morning after reports of a man threatening self-harm.

Sussex Police arrived at around 11:25am on Monday, May 13 and confronted the man. He was arrested on suspicion of possessing a shotgun without a licence.

The 44-year-old suspect was taken into custody safely. Thankfully, no injuries were reported.

Police Deliver Calm Message to Residents

“We responded to concerns for a man’s welfare. A 44-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a shotgun without a licence and remains in custody at this time,” a Sussex Police spokesperson stated.

The force assured locals that there is no wider threat to public safety. Enquiries are ongoing, but they confirmed the situation is under control.
