London Fire Brigade crews have been scrambled to a fire in Kerwin House, located on Chequers Lane in Dagenham, following reports of a cooking-related fire and heavy smoke logging inside a residential flat.
Firefighters were dispatched alongside an aerial ladder platform to tackle the incident, which was reported via just after 3.20pm this afternoon (Monday 30th June 2025)

Crews are understood to be dealing with a cooking fire that spread smoke throughout the property.
Status and Safety Measures
At this time, there have been no confirmed injuries, but firefighters are working quickly to ventilate smoke and contain the fire to the affected property.
The public is urged to avoid the area while crews carry out their operations. Smoke may be visible across parts of Chequers Lane and surrounding roads.
