Wildfire on Dartford Heath Brought Under Control After Major Fire Service Blitz
A fiery blaze tore through Dartford Heath this evening, but Kent Fire and Rescue Service have now got it under control.
Smoke Drift Sends Residents Scrambling
Earlier today, emergency teams warned locals and travellers to keep windows and doors shut amid heavy smoke drifting from the blaze. The warning came just after 6.30pm as flames ripped across the heathland, close to homes and transport routes.
Fire crews slammed into action, deploying specialised wildfire equipment and powerful hose reel jets to tackle the flames head-on.
Firefighters Win The Battle
By 7.45pm, the blaze was fully extinguished. The response involved three fire engines, a bulk water carrier, and advanced technical units working around the clock to stop the fire spreading.
Community Urged to Stay Alert
Kent Fire and Rescue Service urged locals to share updates far and wide, especially for those without internet access. “Please make sure your family and neighbours know the fire is out and the danger has passed,” they said.
No word yet on what started the fire. Authorities are investigating.
