A major investigation is underway after five men were injured during a violent disturbance on Purley High Street late on Thursday night (17 July).

Emergency services were called to the scene at approximately 10.27pm following multiple reports of a large altercation in progress.


Multiple Victims Rushed to Hospital

Upon arrival, officers from the Metropolitan Police and paramedics from the London Ambulance Service found five victimsthree men in their 20s and two in their 30s — all suffering from significant injuries.

The men were treated at the scene before being transported to hospital. Police confirmed that while the injuries were serious, they are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.


Weapons Recovered, Crime Scene Established

Following the incident, officers established a crime scene and seized several weapons found at the location. The types of weapons recovered have not yet been disclosed.

The road was closed overnight as forensics teams worked into the early hours to secure evidence.


Investigation Ongoing — No Arrests Yet

Police have launched a full investigation and are pursuing multiple lines of enquiry, though no arrests have yet been made.

Authorities are urging anyone who witnessed the incident or has relevant information to come forward.
